West Waterford FoodArdmore is situated in West Waterford. It is now becoming known as being the Gourmet capital of Ireland. The Waterford Good Food Tree, features many award winning restaurants in the locality. The Aer Lingus in flight magazine "Cara", described it as such in its edition of April 2001. The McKennas' in their, "Good Food Guide", also identify West Waterford as the "foodies" new found place. These restaurants include; in Ardmore, The Whitehorses Restaurant run by Christine & Joe Power, (phone 024 94040). Paul Flynn's restaurant, The Tannery in Dungarvan. He is the food correspondent in the Irish Times Saturday supplement. Also in Dungarvan is Powersfield House Restaurant. Paul Deevey's restaurant, in Richmond House, Cappoquin. Also worth a visit, but a little further away are, Mary Wall's Hanoras Cottage, in the Nire Valley and Ken Buggy's bar & restaurant in Glencairn.

In nearby Youghal Co. Cork, there is the renowned Aherne's Seafood bar & restaurant, owed and run by the Fitzgibbon family. Also in nearby Co. Cork are Margaret Brown's, "Brown's Restaurant", Mary Tattan's Spanish Point Restaurant in Ballycotton, and the world famous "Ballymaloe House and Cookery School", operated by the Allen family.
